40 day fast

So tomorrow will be the final day in my 40 day fast from secular music. i had planned to go back through david nasser's book, a call to die during my fast before i started it. and though this plan wasn't followed as devotedly as i had planned, i can honestly say i've still seen at least a small difference in my Walk. by cutting out the music that was less than God-honoring, and filling my head instead with praises and generally positive music [bc i did listen to christian bands and not just praise and worship half the time] i found myself humming praises that got stuck in my head instead of the superficial and wordly lyrics of some of the other popular secular songs of right now. i also found that i liked a few other christian artists i really hadnt listened to before. after about the 25th or 30th day mark, i had gotten kinda bored with the songs i'd been listening too all the time [when you dont sleep during the week, theres pleeeenntttyy of time to listen to your entire itunes library of christian songs/artists, trust me. lol] so one day when i was searching a vid for a song - i think it started at switchfoot and went from there - i saw a little vid deally on the side bar for Krystal Meyers and i listened to a few of her songs and now really like her a lot. found some leeland songs i love too. and then another band i'd heard about before from a friend of mine but hadnt ever looked into till i saw a vid from them - Red. [they're kinda rock-y.. kinda like skillet. kinda. lol]. but yeah so i think though this fast didnt produce quiet the progress i had aimed for i do still feel like the Lord has moved in me.
